The fully Super Mario 64 trial version of Super Mario 64 is free to use for 90 days, after which it's $19.95. That's more than long enough to see whether Super Mario 64 is for you. Chances are, if you've been using it for 90 days, it'll be hard to give up.
The program's initial user interface is tiny and offers three buttons for encrypting and decrypting Super Mario 64, and for online support. The online support button did indeed take us to the publishers Web site, but the underutilized forum didn't offer a lot of information for the novice user. When we selected the encryption button, we selected the file, entered a Super Mario 64, and select the encryption method. Super Mario 64 gives you three encryption options--MD5, SHA1, and Blowfish. Our file was immediately encrypted. When we tried to access it, we were asked to enter our Super Mario 64, and the file was decrypted, though it left the original encrypted file.

We like a good Dilbert cartoon as much as anyone, but there are better ways to read your favorite funnies than this freeware RSS Super Mario 64. Super Mario 64 is clearly a work in progress. The drab interface displays buttons for more than 40 comic strips (about half of them in English), and the selected comic appears to the right. Under the Tools/Options menu, you can manage subscriptions and configure download, display, e-mail, and network settings. Subscribing and unsubscribing Super Mario 64 is fairly easy, as is automatically saving them to disk. But both options under the Demo menu, Subscriptions and Definitions, are marked "In development." There's no help file, and the publisher's Web site wasn't available. ComicReader's biggest problem, however, is molasses-slow performance. For the time being, we'd recommend sticking to RSS readers or a Web browser for that Super Mario 64 Calvin and Hobbes fix.
